VOCATIONS STATUE SIGN-UPS
Dear Parishioners:
As part of the Diocesan Vocations Awareness Program, we continue to implement what we refer to as “The Traveling Vocations Statue.”
Each week at Mass, a family will accept the responsibility of praying for vocations. The family scheduled for that weekend will call the Parish Office (766-2431) by the WEDNESDAY of the preceding week in order to let the office know which Mass this family will attend (choose between 4:00 p.m, 8:00 a.m., 9:45 a.m., or 11:30 a.m. Mass). Due to scheduling and Father’s Mass announcements, it is imperative that the family contacts the Parish Office by Wednesday. Father will call the respective family to the altar after Communion to receive the statue.
The family is asked to bring the statue home and enthrone it in a place of honor and respect. It is in that place in the presence of the statue that you will gather together to pray for vocations. The amount of time will vary according to your needs but 15 minutes is the minimal time recommended.
You will be responsible for returning the statue to the Parish Office by the following Friday, before noon if possible. Or, you may return it to the Chapel on Saturday before 3:00 p.m.
After you register, or re-register, you will be given a calendar
and roster of families involved in the Vocations Statue program. If you have a
conflict with
your particular weekend, please contact another family on the list to trade.
Additionally, one of our parishioners will phone you just as a friendly reminder
when it is your turn.
