The host is broken, representing Christ sharing His life with us.  The grapes sit above the chalice, symbolic of the blood of Jesus.  The Chi Rho on the host is the symbol of Christ the Priest, respresenting the sacrament of Holy Orders.  All are within the green mandorla, a symbol of the life-giving presence of Christ.
