Religious Education
The St. Jude Religious Education program offers the Parish School of Religion, Sunday School/Sunday Nursery, and Guidelines for Sacramental Preparation.

PSR Registration has begun for the 2008-2009 School Year. If you do not have a registration form and would like to register your children, please print out the forms (1 student page per child) and mail/bring to the office.
Fees
for the upcoming year are as follows:

The task of the Parish School of Religion is to teach, proclaim, and witness the "good news" of God's love and mercy to all our children (grades K to 11) who attend public/private school. Elementary PSR meets Wednesdays from 6-7 pm during the school year. High School PSR meets once a month on Wednesday from 7:15-9 pm. Please call the Parish Office at 766-2431 to register your child for PSR.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR 2007-2008
Baptism:
If
you plan to have your infant baptized in the upcoming months, you must call the
parish office before the first of the month to make arrangements. Parent
and godparent seminars are held on the first Tuesday of the month.
Baptisms are scheduled around the church's liturgical calendar. There will
be no baptisms during Advent and Lent. Special celebrations have been
planned for the Easter season.
Guidelines for Godparents: Catholic godparents must be 16 years old or older. Catholic godparents must be confirmed, practicing Catholics. If a godparent lives outside of St. Jude Parish, a Sponsor Certification Letter from his/her own parish is required.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist: Before students can receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist in the 2nd grade, they must receive religious instruction in the 1st grade either in a Catholic school or in a PSR program and be enrolled for 2nd grade. Be sure that your child attends religion class if you want them to receive the sacraments.
If you are a parishioner of St. Jude and your 2nd grade child attends Catholic school or PSR outside of St. Jude Parish, please contact our parish office if you have not done so for information regarding First Reconciliation & Eucharist. According to Diocesan Guideline, sacramental preparation for parents and their children's celebration of these sacraments must take place in the parish in which you are registered and worship.
FIRST RECONCILIATION/FIRST EUCHARIST 2007-2008
Confirmation: Before 11th graders can be confirmed, they must receive religious education for at least 2 years prior to being confirmed whether in Catholic school or a PSR program and be receiving religious education in the 11th grade. If you have an 11th grade student who meets these criteria but who has not been contacted by us about Confirmation by August 2004, please call the Parish Office at 766-2431.
